In 1994, Prizm Incorporated was formed by Michele Johnson and Gary Meidinger, in the town of Manhattan, Kansas. They were eager to open a gift company of their own, and had met with a number of artists who they hoped might fit with their vision. In 1993 they met an artist named Pipka, and they both fell in love with her unique Christmas designs, and also shared her vision to express the magic, joy, and holiness of Christmas in her work. One year later, in 1994, Prizm Incorporated was formed. The first year, they introduced Pipka’s designs as limited edition figurines. A year later, in 1995, Prizm Incorporated launched an entire line: “Pipka Santas.” Since its initial launch in 1995, collectors throughout the country and the world have enthusiastically embraced their products.
Prizm Incorporated has since expanded their lines. More recently, in January of 2005, Prizm Incorporated introduced three new artists and collections; Peggy Abrams and her “Making Seasons Bright” collection, Tom Browning and his “Santa Classics” collection, as well James Browne and his “Untold Stories” collection. Every year their artists introduce new items to their collections, often selling out.
Over the years Prizm Incorporated has won several awards and nominations from the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers, NALED, and the Collectors Information Bureau, CIB. Their business continues to grow and has much more on the drawing board. They are always keeping the consumer and their unique tastes in mind, as they search for new artists throughout the country to work with.
